Make Mine Texas is a new blog written by Rosi Juarez (my great aunt) and devoted to appreciating small town Texas. While I’m partial to big city Austin, I can’t deny the beauty of the smaller communities scattered throughout the state. In a way they’re romantic, and there is no shortage of rich history that’s worthy of sharing.
Just like G in the Comeback, this project stemmed from me offering pro bono marketing help to personal ventures and small businesses struggling during COVID-19. We were essentially starting from scratch here, so not only was I building a great user experience through WordPress, I was also developing logo ideas and content organization.
My dad specializes in designing innovative user experiences, so growing up I was always familiar with the space. However, it was during this project that I really got some heavy hands-on experience, specifically in WordPress. Going forward I’ll be able to handle site building with ease and across other platforms such as Squarespace and Wix.
